My entry for the summer 2017 contest "Something is Broken" by RWBY
My chosen entry was team STRQ because, let's face it, they are one of the most broken teams so far on the show. And it definitely wasn't a clean break, either. Honestly, I have the strong impression that Summer was the one holding them all together. I know Raven left first, but there are a myriad of possible reasons.
A bit on the symbology in this piece. The positions each are in are reflective more on what they turned away from more and how they did so. Raven completely turned her back on Taiyang and Taiyang reluctantly let her go. I feel like Taiyang took things much harder and kind of isolated himself away from all the "fighting evil forces" because of being hit so hard with the losses. Qrow is still connected to both Taiyang and Raven, but there is obviously bad blood between all three of them. And finally, Summer is watching her team drift apart, the only one willing to stay with them all.
I really wouldn't be surprised if the last time the team was "together" was at Summer's grave in honor of her. Then, they each just walk their own ways.

I heard in fanfiction is that Raven left because she was tired of fighting Salem and wondered: When will this nightmare end?
When she heard Summer died, she thinks it's her fault, that she cause people to suffer, that's why she left Tai and Yang.
I'm serious there was a fanfiction I read that ( I forgot the name because it got deleted) Raven blames herself for Summer's death so hard, She thought that killing herself would bring her back.
